Growth Mindset

What is a Growth Mindset?

The Growth Mindset was researched and introduced to the world by Dr. Carol Dweck from Stanford University.

A growth mindset means that you thrive on challenge, and don’t see failure as a way to describe yourself but as a springboard for growth and developing your abilities. Your intelligence and talents are all susceptible to growth and you always see room for improvement.

Stimulating and challenging activities

Children learn and develop best through high-quality interaction with adults. Remember, your children may not listen to you but always watch you. Lead and teach them through example. Challenge them to try difficult things, encourage them to keep trying until they succeed, and reward and praise the process of trying more than you reward the outcome.

A few points to consider as you work on your planning:

Safe, loving and supportive environment
Children need to feel safe and loved to achieve their full potential. Feeling seen and secure is essential for personal, social and emotional development. It is our responsibility as teachers to create and maintain such an environment.

What happens in the early years affects every aspect of your bambooh Children’s future. This statement is not hyperbole; you hold the seeds of precious lifetimes in your hands when you receive your bambooh Children in the morning – make every day count.
